We are on an extended hiatus, with a hopeful anticipation towards reopening.  Our website will look a little different for a short time as we "pause" some features for this time. Please read the latest update (1/7/2025) below:

Fellow Local Food Lovers~

Happy 2025! Melissa, Howl, and I hope your holidays were spectacular, and we bring you one more update to start off the year.

Following much of nature in this season, our food network will be partaking of a winter hibernation. Howl & I have reached the end of our available timeline before baby; and Melissa's housing situation is ongoing and fairly encompassing. With these pressing priorities, we are not able to get the co-op up and running this winter season.

Over the Autumn hiatus, we were able to gather a fairly comprehensive outline of a workable model and its needs, and the multiple ways to rebuild and reboot this system. It demands a couple foundational logistics, but mostly it requires someone with more availability to commit to it.

The full, vibrant expression of this community remains as possible as ever, in the right set of hands at the right time. Melissa will be actively on the lookout for anyone who might be able to step into that role with our support in the meantime. Given someone to fulfill the role, there is hope for Spring renewal.

If you have any leads, willingness, or other brilliant ideas, Melissa will once again be your go-to contact!

Thanks to each one of you for supporting this value system in any way you can, even while it's through avenues other than the co-op.

In gratitude and hope,

Emerieta, Melissa, and Howl

Melissa here--my family and I are still deeply in the pit of dealing with the situation with our home, many ongoing repairs, having to move out of the home for our safety, and more.  But as I've told Howl and Emerieta--I STILL believe in this system, and I STILL believe it is NEEDED.  My one hope, in this very busy time, is to do what I can do in the time I have (albeit very limited) to help this reopen as soon as possible, and to find the person or persons in our area of Central Alabama who share the vision and passion for this purpose.  COULD THAT BE YOU???  If yes, I want to talk to you!  Please email me at info@alabamafarmcoop.com, and I will MAKE time for a call or meeting with you.  We can do this!  --M

WELCOME TO ALABAMA FARM CO-OP!

Alabama Farm Co-op is a delivery service for locally grown and produced food. We make it possible for farmers to work together to meet the growing demand for local, sustainable food in the Alabama Farm Co-op area. Farmers benefit from the marketing and pickup, and customers benefit from the local delivery of their products and foods. You buy from the farms, and we go get it and bring it to you!

Ordering through Alabama Farm Co-op helps to support our local Alabama farms, and to preserve our precious agricultural land for future use.

WHAT'S NEW THIS WEEK?

Visit our Product List page to see what is available. We're growing and so is our product list. Check the website weekly for new items.

*We are open for ordering every OTHER week, with orders due by Thursday at 5pm (on order weeks).  Delivery takes place the next week, as we pick up from all the farms and vendors on Tuesday and Wednesday, then distribute on Thursday.*
